Kriya Yoga Breathwork

What is Yoga? A Practice towards a state of Wellbeing.
Why is it called a 'Practice'? Because evolution is a constant.

The Physical aspect of Yoga is only one part. Hatha Yoga ( ‘Sun’ in Sanskrit ), is physical Yoga to which adding the breath brings about the Mind and Body union. Physical Yoga is a type of Tantra, which is when we connect and harmonise the body layers through the breath. Vinyasa Flow, 'intelligent sequencing of postures’, is a fluid continuous moving Yoga flow. Asana is practised to open the body’s 72,000 Nadis; energy meridians in the body, six of which are in each hand and foot!

Hatha Asana refers to body positions, or postures, associated with the practice of Yoga.

This is Sattva Yoga which involves Hatha Asana and the Tantra Kriyas, which are powerful breath practices with movement, that create evolution in all areas of your being. Sattva ( pronounced ‘Sattwa’ ) is Himalayan Kundalini and this practice engages and benefits more than the body’s physical system, and incorporates all the Yogic styles in a practice, as the body’s full system of intelligence is needed to harmonise body, mind and spirit.

In a Sattva Yoga class or Journey we work with your layers of bodies: Physical, Mental, Emotional, Energy, Wisdom, Pseudo and Bliss bodies. You have a lot more bodies than you think! Then there are the 7 seven energy centres of the body; remember those 7 colours of the rainbow? It's all connected.

MEDITATIONS: PRANAYAM, VISUALISATION, CREATE

The most popular yoga practice....Chillin’ on a Cushion, sitting upright on the Sofa with a Strong spine and an open Heart.

Walking meditation, or guided. The goal of Hatha is to achieve the unification of the mind, body and spirit, through physical exercises with breath.

KRIYAS AND BREATHWORK

It decreases anxiety, and creates attention and focus, dissolves mental exhaustion, corrects the effects of stress, good for Autism, ADD, ADHD, increases cardio vascular health.

CHANTING, SOUND HEALING, GONGS, SINGING BOWLS

This is a beautiful way too use Naad ( Sound in Sanskrit ) to open the communication channels, heal the throat Chakra, and vibrate the body on a cellular level.

Sanskrit, Mantras, Bija Sounds to connect to Universal vibrations, and unifying your sound within the harmony of interconnectedness.

What Hapens In A Class?

The Structure ➜ Kriya & Juicy Bits that Make You Laugh ➜ The Flow State

A typical Sattva Journey is 60 or 90 minutes.

We begin with Meditation to take the mind offline, followed by focus on the subtle body with Pranayama breath work, Tantra Kriyas and Mantra. Integrating Tantra Kriyas and Himalayan Kundalini for holistic wellbeing.

Yoga that focuses only on the muscular system, or any other system in separation from the whole, will create imbalance in that system and therefore in the body as a whole.

Below are some Inter - changeable class designs to give you an idea, each class or practice is tailored to the individual, or group and no class is ever the same.

Yoga Yang to Yin Restorative Workshop

Moving through the layers to the Bliss Body - Santosha “Contentment”.

Yogi Claudia Yoga & Meditation Journey

Age 9 to Now

  • I have practiced for over 30 years first learning from my grandmother in traditional Hatha.

My meditation practice began at age 9 learning from my Grandfather, and my Yoga practice began aged 17 with my Nana. I later progressed to Kundalini, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Bikram, Power Yoga, Jivamukti, Rocket, and Hot Yoga. In my enjoyment of body movement, I was also on the British Olympic synchronised swimming team as a child, and also did gymnastics and dance.

  • My accredited training was in India, for 200 and 500-hour training, with 4 months of retreat, deep in the Himalayan Mountains and on the Banks of the River Ganges in Rishikesh, the Yoga Capital of the world.

Sattva incorporates the Vedic tradition from 4th Century BCE, merged with pure Tantric roots taught and was handed down in the oral tradition by ancient Yogi Masters to students, and to my Master teacher Anand Mehrotra. My lineage goes directly back to Parmanhansa Yogananda ( who was my teacher’s teacher ), then Sri Yukteswar, Lahiri Mahasaya, and Babaji.
